CEL, the abbreviation of Coordinated Environmental Lighting, is a tangible interface to control the light in a home-work context. Through the settings of 3 parameters: activity, duration and intensity, CEL enhances the user discipline to balance the home vs work continuum.
“Through everyday choices and practices, we each work toward enacting, reinforcing and modifying our ideas of ‘work’ and ‘home’ and how they should relate. This process – the integration-segmentation continuum – is how people define the mental divide between work and non-work related activities.”
- Christena Nippert-Eng, Sociologist, 2015
Can we increase work efficiency in the work-home context by using light as the medium?
